What Does "You Spin Me Right Round" Mean?

If you don't understand what the "You Spin Me Right Round" shirt is talking about, no problem. We'll explain it.

Back in the 80's you could dress like a woman and no one batted a painted eyelash! And that's what Pete Burns did in the British new wave group Dead or Alive.

"You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" is a song from their 1985 album Youthquake. "You Spin Me Round" was re-released in 2003 at the same time as the Dead or Alive greatest hits album Evolution was released. It was re-released again on January 30, 2006 because of lead singer Pete Burns' controversial time as a contestant on television series Celebrity Big Brother and reached #5.

Dope's version of the song became their first chart entry on any Billboard chart, reaching #37. Their version is often misattributed to Marilyn Manson.
